She was born in Chicota, Texas on January 8, 1934, to Edward Watson Gentry and Amanda Mittilene Booth.  She graduated from Chicota High School, and attended Paris Junior College where she played basketball and was a member of the Drill Team.  She was an accountant for thirty years, and retired from Century 21 Regional Offices in Los Colinas, Texas.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soper, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed teaching the young children’s Sunday School Class.  She loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles, and spend time with her family.  She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and proudly shared the same birthday as him.  Anyone that knew her admired her quick wit, spunk and mischievousness, and also knew that she could be counted on for support.

She was preceded in death by a loving daughter, Jo Ann Knight, a son, Thomas Warren, a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Warren, and great-granddaughter Kinley Marie Williamson.  Also preceding her in death were brothers: Charley Jordan, Herbert Jordan, Cecil Gentry, Chester Gentry, and sisters:  Jewel Johnson, Esther Armstrong, Neva Palmer, Nonzalee Johns, and Dena Erwin.

Left to cherish her memory are granddaughters: Lindsey Parker and husband Justin, Tyler McLane and husband Zack, grandson Thomas Warren, Jr., and wife Tammy, all of Euless Texas, grandson Steven Grisham, of Soper, Oklahoma, whom she raised, four step-grandsons:  Chris Mitchell, Gary Mitchell and wife Rochelle, Taylor Clapper, Cameron Holly, and six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who were all special to her, as well as former caregivers: Betty McGrew, Edna Brown, and lifelong friends, J.B. and Maxine Stillwell.

Special thanks to Dr. Mark Campbell, Dr. Ted McLemore, and the nursing staff of Heritage House of Paris, for their special care.

If desired memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
