preston001Charles Earl “Corky” Preston, 58 of Paris left this world on August 28, 2014 at 5:07 A.M.

Funeral services has been set for Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Living Word Pentecostal Church with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

He was born on September 12, 1955 in Batesville, Arkansas to Milburn and Frances Cole Preston. He married Susan Ragsdale on December 29, 1973. He loved his church family, God, family and friends. He attended Living Word Pentecostal Church. He loved to hunt and fish. He said he was close to God out in the wilderness. He loved spending time with his grandson Landon and just talking to his sons-in-law, Steve and James. He loved his baby girls and he even had some special kids at church that he claimed as his own and they called him “Papa”.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Preston; daughter, Amanda Guest and husband James, Amy Perry and husband Steven; grandchildren, Carlee Perry, Gracee, Landen, Keylee, Mielee and Maeson Morrison; brother, Jerry Cox and wife Martha; sister, Johnnie Faye Guenther and husband Wayne; brother in law, Sammy Ragsdale and wife Judy; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milburn and Frances Preston, father and mother-in-law, Jack and Lucille Ragsdale; special grandparents that helped raise him, F.C. and Elsie Preston; brother-in-law, Walter “Bubba” Burch; sister, Janie Cox and a special nephew, Bradley Cox.

Pallbearers will be Steven Perry, James Guest, Bryan Perry, Bobby Poynor, Eddie Pryor and Robert Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Cox and DeWayne Cox.
