Lou Nell Ragsdale McDowell, 92, of Paris passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Paris Regional Medical Center-North.

Mrs. McDowell was born on June 19, 1920 inAlba,Texasa daughter of S.H. & Lila Kitchens Craver. Lou graduated in 1938 from Alba High SchoolandNorthTexasUniversityin 1942. She later received her Masters Degree in Education. Lou taught in the Dallas Independent School Districtand retired after 40 years of teaching. She was a longtime member ofFirstBaptistChurchwhere she also taught Sunday School for many years, Paris Women’s Study Club and Retired Teachers Association.

On March 31, 1961 she married Clayton Ragsdale. She married Joe M. McDowell on October 15, 1998 inParis. She was preceded in death by her first husband Clayton Ragsdale, parents, brothers Paul Craver and Bob Craver and sisters Nathalee Mallory and Bernice Guillet.

Lou is survived by her spouse; Joe M. McDowell; step-children Tamra Echols, Felix McDowell, Mark McDowell; nieces Mrs. Randy Pendleton ofWaco, Mrs. Fred Satterwhite ofLubbock; nephew David Mallory ofPonca City,OK; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday November 24, 2012 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the YantisCemeteryin Yantis, Texas. Family will receive friends from Noon till service time on Saturday. If desired family requests memorials be made to a favorite charity. Kenneth Don Miller, 27, of Paris died Friday Nov. 16, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at Hopewell cemetery 2:00 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 21st with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1 p.m Wednesday.

Kenneth was born June 10, 1985 in Paris a son of Terry Don and Scarlett Denise Thacker Miller. He was employed as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother Brannin Don Miller; grandmother, Dorothy Ausmus and grandfather, Charles Thacker.

Survivors include a son Kenneth Don Miller, Jr., his father Terry Don Miller and wife Rita and mother Scarlett Denise Haley and husband Roger; brother Justin Don Miller and wife Wendy of Broken Bow, OK; sister, Brittany Dawn Jones and husband Greg of Tyler; aunts and uncles, Robert and Hollie Todd; Harvey Miller, Dee-Dee and Jimmy Mims; Rhonda and Kenneth Tucker; Don and Renne Thacker; grandparents Donna and Steven Tucker and Jamie Miller.

Pallbearers will be Robert Ray, Jeremy Todd, Joshua Todd, Harvey Miller Jr., Billy Miller, and Greg Jones.
