BONNIE L. STAVNEAK, 86, of Paris, passed from this life Thursday November 1, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center North. Following local arrangements by Starrett Funeral Home, her body will be received by the Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, NE 68106, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 10, 2012. Cremation will follow the service, and she will be inurned with her husband in the Hillcrest Cemetery of Omaha.
Bonnie was born November 27, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska, a daughter of Gustav and Emma Ekstrand Baysdorfer. She was a graduate of Omaha schools, and attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Her proudest achievement was the care of family, and she involved herself in all the activities of her children. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, traveling with her family, and playing the piano.
She married Lester Paul Stavneak on June 4, 1947, in Omaha. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2004. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include three children, Mark Stavneak, of Omaha, Nebraska, Jim Stavneak and wife Kathy, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Julie Callaway and husband Scott, of Paris; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Foisey, of Valley, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.
