William “Bill” Bone, 85, of Paris, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012, at his home while surrounded by his family.

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Turner officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites and Military Honors, will follow in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Bill, the son of William Bennie & Helen Ethel Coco Bone, was born March 6, 1927, in Petty.

He served in the U. S. Army toward the end of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Paris where he had been a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge & the Optimist Club. Bill had served as a Boy Scout Leader, on the Paris City Council and had been a board member of the Paris Independent School District.

In early years, he was a banker in Roxton, and that is where he met & married Martha Louise Landers on August 3, 1950. They shared sixty-two years together before her home going on August 8, 2012. Later he worked for National Cash Register and then owned and operated Paris Typewriter Exchange and opened the first Radio Shack Franchise in Paris.

Bill was a carpenter, woodworker and repairman. He loved electronics & machines and was able to tear apart anything and put it back together.

He enjoyed spending time with family & friends at his Potato Hills Cabin in Oklahoma.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Jo Bone of Paris, Claire Bone Anderson & husband Frank of Paris and Rachel Leigh Bone of Garland, grandchildren, Linsey Parson & husband Lonny of Rufe, OK, Adrian Coco Anderson of New York and Josef Cawley Anderson of Huntsville, great grandchildren, Jacob Glyn Parson and Joshua Lee Parson, a brother, Bob Bone & wife Ruth of Austin, a niece, Becky Renaud & husband Frank & their son Ryan, a nephew, Steve Bone & wife Jana, his caregiver & friend of many years, Donnajo Golightly, numerous cousins, his special dog, Spunky and a plethora of friends.
