JIM PUTNAM, 63, of Paris, passed from this life Friday March 14, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 19, 2014 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Rev. David Darrow officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jim was born January 30, 1951 in Ashdown, Arkansas, a son of James Thomas and Lillian Aldine “Pat” Putnam. He was a graduate of Texarkana schools, then worked in the trucking industry for over forty years, primarily as an owner-operator. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Paris. Jim was a man’s man, who enjoyed the outdoors. Whether at drag racing events, water skiing, fishing or hunting, the only thing he enjoyed more was the time spent with his grandson. He lived for the forest. Even when faced with physical illness or impairment, he had a great determination to overcome them and go about his way of life. He never capitulated to weakness, but lived life to its fullest in every situation.
Jim married Marcia Walker on July 16, 1982 in Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one sister, Peggy Veal.
Left to survive and cherish his memory is his wife Marcia; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell Walker and Alix Harper Putnam; his grandson Harper James Putnam; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Heather Elizabeth Rose 18, of Paris, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Paris. Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at Ben Franklin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Heather was born on May 24, 1995, in Phoenix, Arizona to Tammy Marie Rose and Russell Moore Rose. She attended Paris High School and enjoyed drawing, writing poetry and spending time with her family and friends. She worked as a waitress at both McKee’s and Cattle Drive Steakhouse where she enjoyed conversing with her many customers. Heather was a creative soul and a friend to all. She never knew a stranger. She was always full of life and would light up the room when she entered it. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Wilma Whitaker; her grandmother, Glenda Sue Larkin; her grandfather, Wendell Larkin; and her uncle, Rob Rose. Survivors include her father, Russell Rose of Paris; her mother, Tammy Rose of Paris; sisters, Sarah Rose, Autumn Rose and Summer Rose, all of Paris; a brother, Russell Rose of Paris; a grandmother, Nan Rose of Mesquite; a grandfather, Bob Rose and wife Carol of North Little Rock; aunts, Kim Rose of Mesquite and Susan Larkin of Dallas; an uncle, Randy Rose and wife, Paula of Paris; a great-aunt and great-uncle, Sheryl and Bill Wood and their children, William and Aaron of Paris; cousins, Carol Ladd, Debbie Landers, Pam Mantooth, Arjanna Larkin and her children, Jayden and Elianna and many more family and friends.

MARGARET INEZ SPANN STOUT 77, of Blossom, died at 10:45 PM, Friday, March 14, 2014 at her home. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bridges officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
Margaret was born August 21, 1936 in Paris to Albert Leslie and Belvia Frances Gain Spann. She graduated from Paris High School and for over 30 years, she worked as a sales representative for Levolor Corporation. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stout is survived by her son, Danny Smith and wife, Linda; three grandchildren, Jeremy Smith and wife, Erin, Shannon Cass and husband, Michael, and Cody Morris and wife, Kayle; seven great-grandchildren, Tanner, Aidan and Preston Smith, Makina, Cora and Zoee Cass, and Kinsley Morris; one brother, Albert Leslie Spann Jr. and wife, Judy; two sisters, Mary Pomroy and Patricia Davee; and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Renee Morris.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Smith, Cody Morris, Michael Cass, Paul Pomroy Jr., Trey Pomroy, Phil Spann, and Rick Spann.

LISA REGAN FRAZIER, of Paris, passed peacefully from her earthly home, Sunday, March 16, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends. Lisa leaves behind a legacy of servant hood, love, and tremendous faith. A memorial service is set for 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with the family receiving friends from 4:30 PM until service time at the church. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Gary and Tommie Regan, of Charleston, Texas; a daughter, Regan Garrett Plata and husband Michael; a son, Justin Frazier and wife Kaitlyn, all of Paris; a brother, Justin Regan and wife Shannon, of The Woodlands; a grandson, Gage Plata; and nephew Drew Regan.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19th, at East Delta Baptist Church with Rev. Jake Vaughn officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in East Delta Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Kennemer, the son of Neal & Minnie Wells Kennemer, was born March 10, 1923, in Biardstown.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On July 25, 1946, he married Myrtie Chandler, building sixty-one years of family and memories before her death on Sept. 22, 2007.
Hoyt had attended Pacio Baptist Church and East Delta Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Hoyt’s desire growing up was to buy a farm and be a rancher. He saw that desire come to fruition in 1949, when he & his wife, Myrtie, purchased their farm and ranch in the Kensing Community of Delta County.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Tilger & husband Jimmy of Weatherford and Phyllis Stone & husband Gary of Plano, two sons, Ronal Kennemer & wife Debbie of Kensing and Donal Kennemer & wife Judy of Hallsville, six grandchildren, Phillip Tilger & wife Robyn, Dustin Kennemer & wife Kirsten, Coyt Kennemer, Nicole Stone, Kristina Kennemer and Kade Kennemer, three great grandchildren, Emerson, Garrett and Hadley Tilger, one sister, Mary Lou Precella along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Phillip Tilger, Coyt Kennemer, Dustin Kennemer and Kade Kennemer.

Maurene Hume McDowell, 94, of Paris, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. McDowell, the daughter of Lesley & Bessie Galbreath Hume, was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Cunningham.
She was very proud to have graduated from Cunningham High School. On April 28, 1940, she married Bart H. McDowell building fifty-seven years of family and memories before his death on Sept. 19, 1997. Maurene was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her family. She devoted her working years to being a full time wife, mother, and homemaker. Maurene enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Her parents & several brothers & sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Collette Burk of Rowlett, two sons, Pat McDowell & wife Vickie of Powderly and Norris McDowell & wife Elaine of Powderly, seven grandchildren, Angela Reese, Margaret Shaw & husband Michael, Leslie Brewer & husband Tommy, Tamara Patterson & husband James, Terry N. McDowell, Meghan Crump & husband Adam and Lucas McDowell, several great grandchildren, a sister, Ina Ward of Bowie along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
