Richard Lloyd Peter, 64, of Roxton passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 in Paris. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 14, 2014 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. David Darrow officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Friday.
He was born on December 3, 1949 in Bloomington, MN a son of Lloyd and Helen Ramsey Peter. Richard served in the U.S. Army, graduated from Bloomington High School and was a diesel mechanic. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and Red River Valley Antique Tractor Club.
Richard loved traveling with his wife as well as his antique tractors. He was an accomplished mechanic who enjoyed working on his old tractors and equipment for fun. Anyone who met Richard was greeted with a hearty handshake and a smile. His huge personality took over a room. He never knew a stranger. He will be missed dearly by his wife and family.
Richard is survived by his wife Olivia Johnson Peter whom he married on February 14, 2008 in Paris, Tx.; children Christine Ploog and husband Tony, Danial Peter, Kenneth Peter and wife Lisa, Virginia Tsosie and husband Tony; step-children Deonna Stevens and husband Robert, Hank Bryant and wife Jennifer, Kathy Archuleta and husband Joseph and Sandra Ramsey and husband Shawn; grandchildren Michael, Rosie, Dominique, Jacob, Kyle; step-grandchildren Joseph, Morgan, Ryder, Max, Kylee, and Dakota; brother Jim Peter and wife Diane; sisters Nancy Steil and husband Bill, Susan Johnson and husband Stephen, Janet Peter. He was preceded in death by his first wife Diane Peter, son James Peter, and his parents.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 14th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Gunter. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Rhonda, the daughter of George Rose and Alice Lester Rose, was born Feb. 10, 1962, in Paris.
She was a loving mother who focused her time on caring for her children and other family.
Survivors include her children, Jaybo Sykes & wife Lacey of Paris and Christy Matlock and J.R. Matlock, Jr. of Paris, a sister, Sadie Myers & husband John of Paris, brothers, Curtis Morris & wife Julie of Paris and Tom Morris of Seagoville, her grandmother, Mable Lester of Paris, grandchildren, Erik Sykes, Alik Sykes, Izik Sykes, Aly-Poo Sykes, Brianna Matlock and Harley Matlock, her best friend, Becky McCool & husband Jackie of Paris, the father of her children, Kim Sykes of Paris along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandfather, Orvil Lester, and a brother, Ricky Don Morris.
Casket bearers will be: John Myers, Dale Freeman, Tommy Pendergraft, Marshall Hudson, Anthony Massey and Ellsworth Franklin.

Barbara Diane Allen, 51, of Arthur City, died Tuesday March 11, 2014 at her residence. Cremation arrangements were provided by Starrett Funeral Home. There will be no formal service.
Barbara was born March 24, 1962 and had worked as a waitress until her illness began.
