Gayla Venniece Jones, 58, of Paris, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Gayla, the daughter of Oscar Ceaburn & Mary Francis Burkhead Fox, was born May 12, 1955, in Clarksville. She graduated from Avery High School and worked in healthcare. Survivors include her husband, Steve Jones, daughters, Trina Gruber of Paris, Jodie Weafer of Destin, FL, and Shelly Banker & husband Bryan of Odessa, sons, Ernie “Boo” Emeyabbi & wife Cassidy of Caviness and Aaron Emeyabbi & wife Katie of Ferris, step-sons, Tyler Jones & Josh Jones, a sister, Judy Goodwin of Destin, FL, grandchildren, Christian & Camron Weafer, Hannah Banker, Kobey Kyle Lee, Chloe Jane, Lily Kate, Ana Clair, Brynn Venniece, Cate Ryan, & Ryan Thorpe Emeyabbi, great grandchildren, Jackson & Ava Weafer along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Nellie Francis Emeyabbi.

Edward Lee “Dopey” Weaver, 64, of Paris, passed away Friday, Jan. 3rd, at his home. Cremation arrangements are under the care & direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. Mr. Weaver will lie in repose until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Weaver, the son of Talmage Ray & Peggy Weaver, was born April 30, 1949. He was a truck driver, driving most of his career for Jelly Skidmore Trucking. He was a master mechanic and enjoyed auto racing at the Paris Drag Strip. Edward had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Weaver, his father, Talmage Ray Weaver, his mother, Peggy Pate, and a grandson, Sol Cuevas.
Survivors include his children, Laura Weaver Vaughn of Paris, Eddie Weaver & wife Shelley of Paris, Brandi Weaver of Paris and Tracy Weaver of Little Rock, AR, grandchildren, Kenneth Vaughn, II, Kelsey Edward Vaughn, Tiara O’Neal, Dayza O’Neal, Isaiah O’Neal, Briyana Weaver, Estrella Cuevas, Jose Cuevas and Edward Cuevas, great grandchildren, Karlee Vaughn, Jordan O’Neal and Kentley Vaughn, brothers & sisters, Earl, Cynthia, Linda, Roger and Doris along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Esterdene Coe Walker, 92, of Arthur City, passed away Saturday, January 04, 2014, at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. John Griswood officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Walker, the daughter of Edgar Clay & Willie Mae Benifield Coe, was born May 22, 1921, in Bridges Chapel, Texas. On Dec. 2, 1938, she married Johnie Lee Walker, building sixty years of family and memories before his death on Nov. 11, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, John Louis Walker and two brothers, Louis Charles Coe and Floyd Eugene Coe. Esterdene & her husband owned and operated Walker’s Cafe in Powderly for nineteen years. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Frankie Eloise Kaiser & husband Eddie of Atlanta, Texas and Johnnie Fay Stewart & husband David of Powderly, two sons, Louis Clay Walker & wife Glenda of Grand Prairie and Jimmy Lee Walker & wife Paula of Arthur City, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister, Pauline Stansell of Paris, two brothers, Billy Gene Coe & wife Mary Lou of Paris and Bobby Dene Coe & wife Mary of Tyler along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Jody Kaiser, Ricky Kaiser, Ryan Walker, Matt Walker, Jason Dickson, Jeffrey Dickson, Joe Williams & Ty Merritt. Honorary bearers will be: Rickey Shields, Junior Vanderburg, Jimmy Walker, James Boyd Lewis, Paul Kent Lewis, Terry Rogers, Gene Vickers and Gene Sparks.

Ruby Frances Baze, 88, of Powderly passed away Saturday January 3, 2014 at St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday Jan. 7 at Bounds Baptist Church with Rev. John McCollister officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the church at 11:00 am.
Ruby was born May 8, 1925 in Spencerville, OK a daughter of Robert and Emma Harvey Byrd. She was married to Charley Baze who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, eternal sunshine, and the rock of our family. She was a member of Bounds Baptist Church.
Survivors include children and their spouses, Ronald Baze and Brenda, Janet and Claude Welborn, Robin and Bob Hill, Patricia and Rich Burdick; grandchildren Chuck Baze, Tammy Baze, Suzanna Morse, Lindsey Welborn, Rebecca Robertson, Alexander Burdick and Jillian Burdick; great grandchildren Taylor, Brook, and Paxton; and a treasured niece Sandy Wray; nephew Glenn Fry and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Barry Lee Graef, 74, of Paris, passed away, Friday, January 3, 2014 at his residence (no photo). Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Knights of Honor Cemetery in Blossom. No formal visitation has been scheduled. Mr. Graef was born May 29, 1939. He married Patsy Ann Chamberlin, in December of 1991 and she preceded him in death, May 11, 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Anthony & husband David of Pennsylvania; four step-children, Thomas William Innis & wife Pam of Paris, Karlotta Sue Lambert & husband Stevie of Paris, John William Downs of Paris and Ginger Renea McFatridge & husband Richard of Paris; along with several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
