bowmanLim J. Bowman, 93, of Paris, passed away Sunday, December 01, 2013.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4th at First Baptist Church in Blossom with Rev. Mike Shupp officiating. Burial will follow in Knights of Honor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowman, the son of Timothy & Florence Dunn Bowman, was born July 13, 1920, in Henderson County. On March 9, 1946, he married Bertha Juanita “Nita” Hinsley, building fifty-five years of family and memories before her death on June 28, 2001.

He was a machinist with Otis Engineering, retiring after more than thirty years of service to the company. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Mr. Bowman was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Blossom. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Burrow & husband Rocky of Sumner, two grandchildren, Joshua Burrow of Sumner and Emily Bush of Paris, a great grandson, Bryson Bush of Paris, a brother, Dan Ray Everett of The Colony, a brother-in-law, Ben Hinsley of Garland along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Rebecca Jean Settle, 53, of Sumner, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris.

Rebecca, the daughter of John Benjamin & Betty Bennett McGonagill, was born Sept. 6, 1960, in Del Rio. She attended high school in Del Rio and worked a number of years in her family’s restaurant, Betty’s Ranch House.

Survivors include her daughters, Jessica Settle and Sarah Settle, her mother, Betty McGonagill, sister, Bonnie McGonagill, brother, Mike McGonagill, brother, Howard Henley and sister, Hope Richardson, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
