Services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dalias Dickson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery at Deport. The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Terry, the son of R. A. & Goldie Mae Carter McDowra, was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Pattonville. He attended the Pattonville Church of Christ. Some of the joys in his life were attending ballgames at Prairiland High School, working for local farmers and riding his bicycle.
His parents and three siblings, Loyd McDowra, Evelyn Daughtrey and Kenneth McDowra, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Fambro and Cherry Walker both of Paris, a brother, Jerald McDowra & wife Claire of Richardson, numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends .
Terry was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Casket bearers will be: Ricky McDowra, Mike Bryan, Brad McDowra, Bobby Salter, James Smith, Freddy Daughtrey and Jim Warren.

Melissa Darnell “Pat” George, 70, of Roxton, died at 2:47 AM, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Sanders and Rev. Larry Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Roxton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Pat was born May 29, 1943 in the Ward’s Creek Community of Bowie County, Texas to William and Martha Ratcliff Flanery. She married Earl George November 28, 1959. He died April 18, 2004. She was retired from Campbell Soup Company and was a founding member of Canaanland Church of God.
Mrs. George is survived by her four sons, Eddie George and wife, Susan of Clarksville, Bobby George and wife, Mandy of Detroit, Rickey George and wife, Debra of Paris, and Bill George of Roxton; sixteen grandchildren, Heather George, Hannah George-Sisson, Brooke George, Rickey George, Patrick George, Tara George, Beau George, Tuff George, Ty George, Brent Kelty, John Kelty, Laura Kelty, Alexis Moore, Anna Moore, A.J. George, and Mariel George; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Donnie Flanery of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and two sisters, Charlotte Edwards of Muldrowe, Oklahoma and Margaret Reeder of Roxton. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Billy Flanery, Fonzie Flanery, Jerry Cartwright, and William Cartwright; and one sister, Betty Flanery.
Pallbearers will be Patrick George, Rickey George, Joe Paul Bennett, Michael Salizar, Calvin Horton, Jr., and Javier Salizar. Honorary pallbearers are Beau George and Tuff George.
