Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20th, at Providence Cemetery with Rev. Tiny Freelen & Bro. Mickey Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Matlock, the son of James Richard & Rovena Akin Matlock, was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Paris. He worked as a Lineman for Chapman’s Construction before beginning his career with the City of Paris from which he retired. He was a member of Life Community Church, Archers for Christ and Family Bass Fishing Club.
His parents and two sisters, Donna Sutton & Estelle Cravens, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Milner Matlock, four children, Lourie Thoms & husband Jody, Connie Murray & husband Thomas, J. R. Matlock & Christy and Casey Wayne Wilson & wife Amber all of Paris, grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson Kayla Layton, Keyla Layton, Korey Arnold, Harley Matlock, Brianna Matlock and Alex Bo Matlock, four great grandchildren, Kaeson Wilson, Raelynn Wilson, Nevaeh Wilson & Railee Harel, siblings, Joyce Smith, Vickie Hall, Violet Matlock, Patsy Plant, J. W. Matlock, Earnest Matlock and Earnest Wilson, brother-in-law & sisters-in-law, Shirley & Steve Copeland and Pamela Sutton along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Johnathan Smith, Jerry Don Smith, Jeremy Prunty, Charles Darden, Charles Mack Hicks, Tina Copeland and Patrick Arnold. Honorary bearers will be: Jeff Hall, Johnny Smith and Jamie Smith.
