John William “Sonny” Burton, 74 of Paris, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at ParisRegionalMedicalCenter.
A graveside service has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at ShilohCemetery with Rev. Don Morton officiating. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Meredith; children, John Jubal Burton and wife Shabecka, Julie Johnston, Donna Keenum and husband Craig, Jan Nunneley and husband Dewayne; step-children, Rose Stanfield, Cynthia Meredith, Barbara Carson, Wesley Meredith, Johnny Meredith Jr.; grandchildren, Mallory Evans and son Jayden, Mandy Evans, Jacob Burton, Austin Burton, Makayala Burton, Chazleigh Starks, Kenda Merritt, Leck Braley, Justin Keenum, Stephen Keenum, Toby Keenum; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Helen Helms, Betty McIver; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Julius Burton; parents, Liston Burton and Corine Hill Ballard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Lewis Gillie, Jody Slagle, Wesley Meredith, Johnny Meredith Jr., Craig Keenum, Dewayne Nunneley.
