Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hilton & Rev. Michael Topliff officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Richter, the son of Peter Paul & Ethel Pearl Seyfert Richter, was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Glendive, Montana. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1958. He served in the U. S. Navy, as a radioman during the Vietnam War, after which he attended Wisconsin School of Electronics and received an AAS Electronics Engineering Technology degree. He worked and spent most of his career as a Computer Support Specialist, retiring in 2008. Edward was an avid reader who enjoyed boating, camping and fishing, but could always be found in front of his computer. He attended Blossom United Methodist Church and was an active member of the church choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lonnie.
Edward is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Hazard Richter, five children, Calvin Richter & wife Jenny of Taiwan, Joette Richter of Madison, WI, Renee Graybill & husband Mike of Bates City, MO, Justin Richter & wife Jessica of Forney and Jamie Richter & wife Dannielle of Brookston, eight grandchildren, Randy, Emma, Tyler, Matthew, Shelby, Courtney, Sydney & Armani; two sisters, Luanne Klugman and Kathy Cameron, two foster-brothers, Lane Adamson & wife Charlotte and Dave Adamson & wife Irene, along with a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Justin Richter, Jamie Richter, Calvin Richter, Randy Richter, Jon Hazard and Jerry Hazard.
