hancockPNAnita Kay Hancock, 66, of the Clardy community passed away Monday January 28, 2013. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, at Shady Grove cemetery with Rev. Mike Fortenberry and Rev. Buddy Greer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 until 8 p.m.

Kay was born March 3, 1946 in Deport a daughter of Alvis Glenn and Doris Evelyn Eudy Ballard. She married Danny Hancock in Sumner on July 15, 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Danny; children Kenneth Michael Hancock and wife Amanda of Athens, Mary Ann English and husband Russell of Conroe, Daniel Lee Hancock and wife Leah of Clardy; grandchildren Collin, Conner, Cody Hancock, Logan and Zayne English; a brother Norris Ballard and wife Elaine; sisters Sue Gibbs and husband Delma and Lou Ellen Starks and husband Bill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

pittsPNPhyllis Maurene Johns Pitts, of Arthur City, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013.  There will be a memorial service for family and friends on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Lighthouse in Powderly.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.

She was born on December 26, 1946 to Mattie Pearl Wortham Johns and John Wilbert Johns.  She was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Colin Jack Pitts; her mother, Mattie Pearl Johns; sisters, Fredricka Fuller and Janice Barnett and partner, Bobby Frierson; nieces, Tina Smith and husband, Kevin, Jana Moore and husband, Alvin; nephews, Chris Fuller and wife, Cinda, Jonathan Barnett and wife, Theresa, Jimmy Barnett and wife, Amy; eleven great-nieces and nephews; five great-great nieces and nephews.  She had no children, but loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own.  She was preceded in death by her father, John Wilbert Johns.
