JAMES BARNETT, 66, of Tigertown, went to be with the Lord at 5:05 PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center-North. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. David Gillean officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. The family will also be at the home of Mr. Barnett’s sister, Kathy Gillean at all other times. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
James was born December 19, 1945 in Paris to Raymon and Luella Young Barnett. He graduated from Paris High School and attended numerous universities receiving his degree in Law Enforcement. Mr. Barnett married Mary Gilbert on May 2, 1969 in Paris. He was a public servant for the Paris Police Department for over 37 years from March 1, 1967 until retiring on July 31, 2004 as Assistant Police Chief. He was a member of the Tudor Street Gospel Mission.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Mary of Tigertown; three children, Kimberly Rawlinson and husband, James, Brenda Story and husband, Randy, and Tony, all of Paris; nine grandchildren, Brian Earls, Ryan Earls, Tyler Kelly, Skyler Kelly, Austin Kelly, Tony, Jeff, Anthony, and Maryanna; one great-grandson, Ethan; siblings, Brenda Askew and husband, Lyndol of Lubbock, Sue Miller and husband, Robert of Vega, Charles Cupell and wife, Debra of Abilene, Kathy Gillean and husband, David of Paris, Don Barnett of Dublin, Scott Harris and wife, Sherri of Tyler, and Sonny Harris and wife, Char of Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Bost; a brother, Roger Barnett; and his parents, Kathryn and Raymon Barnett and Luella and Leroy Cupell.
Pallbearers will be members of the Paris Police Department. Honorary pallbearers are Brian and Ryan Earls.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7th, at the Weaver Family Cemetery, 521 CR 15190, Blossom, TX 75416. The family will receive friends at their home.
Mrs. Weaver was born May 23, 1959, in Springfield, Mass.
She was a Christian and attended Pentecostal churches.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Weaver, three children, Jimmy Gavin, Ellisha Caron and Mario Ruiz, one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters along with a host of friends.
