Ina Mae (McGee) Shepard went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, June 17, 2012 at The Heritage House of Paris.
She was born on December 28, 1926 inLamarCountya daughter of William Earl and Era Bell (Robertson) McGee. She married Billy Coleman Shepard on February 7, 1947 inParis,Texas. They had been married 58 years when Mr. Shepard passed away on August 29, 2006.
Ina graduated from Roxton Schooland attended ParisJunior College where she was a member of the choral group and also a member of Beta Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
She was employed as Program Director at Radio Station KPLT and had the first Women’s News Program, Radio Station KFTX as Traffic Manager, and Loan Closing Clerk at First Federal Savings and Loan. She was the first woman hired at Superior Switchboard and Devices which later became Superior Technology. Ina worked there 31 years, the last 10 as Personnel Manager.
She was a longtime, faithful member ofCalvaryUnitedMethodistChurchand a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class where she served in many capacities including President. She was also a member of the Naomi Unit ofCalvaryUnitedMethodistChurchand served in all capacities including President. She was a former member of Paris Business and Professional Women’s Club serving in many offices including president. She received the BPW “Woman of the Year” award in 1989
Ina will be remembered by her devotion to the Christian faith, and her love and dedication shown through her calm and gentle nature. Her love will remain with her family and friends in cherished memories.
Ina is survived by her children Linda Rutherford and husband David of Roxton and Larry Shepard and wife Donna of Nevada, Texas; grandchildren Amy Brown and husband Jim of Sugarland, Texas, Julie Sanders and husband Joey of Direct, Texas, Corey Shepard of Longview, Texas and Morgan Shepard of Nacogdoches, Texas; great grandchildren Jack Brown, Harper Brown, and Beck Brown; sister Joye Simpson of Paris; sisters-in-law Gudrun McGee of Germany and Maurine Shepard; brother-in-law Jack Shepard and wife Myra; nieces Barbie Ricks, Sandy Macdonald, Diana Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Charles Earl McGee and brother-in-law Wayne Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Glynn Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Roxton with Corey Shepard, Jim Brown, Joey Sanders, Bob Ricks, Jordan Ricks, and Jon Rutherford serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
Caryl Morris, 67 of Longview, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, June 15, 2012 from Good Shepherd Hospital.
She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and nurse and a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Longview.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Bounds of Paris; sisters, Susan Campbell of Paris, Debbie Hooton and husband Jack of Seattle, Elizabeth Spratt and husband Ronnie of Irving, Ann Jones and husband Mark of Deport; brothers, John Bounds and wife Trish, Jason Bounds and wife Sonya of Blossom; one grandchild, Jerred Meadors and wife Lauren of Irving; two great-grandchildren, Harley and Jaxon.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday, June 18 at 2:30 at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will brothers, Jason Bounds and John Bounds; brother-in-law, Ronnie Spratt; nephews, Justin Bounds, Eric Campbell and Casey Smith.

Marjorie Joyce Joyner, 86, of Paris, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Cremation is under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. The family will schedule a burial at a later date.
Mrs. Joyner, the daughter of Harry & Fay Creamer, was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Jamestown, NY.
She married Edward Joyner on May 9, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Joyner.
Survivors include 2 sons, Kenneth Joyner of Paris and John Joyner & wife Jeana of Boswell, OK, one daughter, Mary Lou Randall & husband John of Ivanhoe and one grandson, Jonathan Randall of Ivanhoe.

Frank M. O’Brien, Jr., 88, of Paris, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 18th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Van Lazaroff officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Mr. O’Brien, the son of Frank Monroe O’Brien, Sr. & Molly Dell Veach O’Brien, was born July 3, 1923, in Paris.
He graduated from Paris High School in 1940, and attended Paris Junior College. He volunteered for the Army Air Corp in 1942 and was honorable discharged in 1945. His career with the United States Postal Service spanned from 1947 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was active in the New Era Upper Room Sunday School Class.
He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially his roses.
Survivors include his wife, O’Beria Crow O’Brien, whom he married on Aug. 1, 1947, his daughter, Annabee Salter of Paris, a granddaughter, Lori Salter Luza & husband Emil of Austin and one brother, George O’Brien of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Larry Dean Salter, one sister, Gladys Craddock Smith and three brothers, Harold O’Brien, Edwin O’Brien and Allie O’Brien.

Steven Haskins, 53 of Colorado Springs, CO passed away May 21, 2012.
