TERESA GONZALEZ FERGUSON, 79, of Brookston, passed away, Monday, April 23, 2012, at her residence surrounded by family, following a lengthy illness. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Morgan White as celebrant. Burial will follow inEvergreenCemetery. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Father Guillermo Gabriel Maisonet officiating with visitation immediately following from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Teresa was born November 14, 1932, in Minas de Veraguas, Republica de Panama, the daughter of Ismael Perez and Narcisa Gonzalez. She married Wayne Dwight Ferguson on November 5, 1958, inFortClayton,Canal Zone,Panama. They met as Teresa was working in the Canal Zone as a housekeeper andWaynewas a private in the U. S. Army while he was stationed in theCanal Zone. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, growing roses and was passionate about shopping for bargains. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 53 years, Wayne D. Ferguson of Paris; three children, Doris McElroy and husband, Danny of Paris, Ricky Ferguson and wife, Karin of Paris, and Sandy Jones and husband, James of Paris; seven grandchildren, Jennye Woodard, Caiti McElroy, Tory Branum and husband, Michael, Jacob Ferguson, Josef Ferguson, Rebeckah Peppler, and Michael Ward-Jones; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Ferguson, Josef Ferguson, Michael Ward-Jones, Chuck Ferguson, Danny McElroy and James Jones.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wilcox and her staff at ParisCancerCenter. They would also like to thank the PRMC’s South Campus’ 3rd & 4th floor nursing staff and the outpatient care staff. They would like to extend a very special thank you to her favorite phlebotomist and dear friend, Courtney Leroy at PRMC.
