George Welton Fleming, 75, of Blossom, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Dubuis Hospital in Paris, Texas.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4th, at Bell Cemetery in Palestine, Arkansas with Evan Butler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday, March 2nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Mr. Fleming, the son of Arthur & Lida Fagan Fleming, was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Lamar County, Texas.
He had been a core rebuilder supplier in Houston before moving to Lamar County in 1979, where he operated that same business.
He was a member of the Blossom Church of Christ where he was baptized into Christ in January of 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Stanley Fleming, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1970, three children, Dale Fleming & wife Debbie of Houston, Debbie Gilbert of Houston and Tracy Fleming & wife Susan of Crosby, two brothers, Dan Fleming of Point Blank and Jerry Fleming & wife Ellen of Houston, three sisters, Judy Blackford & husband Lawrence of Paris, Eva McDonald of San Antonio and Mary Ann Bales of Cushing, five grandchildren, Travis Gilbert of San Marcos, Christopher Fleming of Houston and Leslie Romo, Alexis Romo and Emily Fleming all of Crosby along with one great granddaughter, Krislynn Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Fleming.

Bessie Lou Allen, 80, of Blossom, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Evan Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bessie, the daughter of Walter & Ludie Holland Lewis, was born May 30, 1931, in Lamar County.
She married Travis Leon “Cotton” Allen on March 24, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1995.
She was a member of the Blossom Church of Christ.
Her career with Brookshires spanned 38 years before her retirement in 1996.
Preceding in death are her husband, her parents, a sister, Eunice Goodman, and five brothers, Elba Meeks, Lois Meeks, Clarence Lewis, Bill Lewis and Boots Lewis.
Survivors include a son, Travis Stanley Allen of Cedar Hill, three daughters, Patricia Lynn Northam & husband Ronnie of Cumby, Rita Gwen Redus & husband Richard of Paris and Lindsay Fara Dennington & husband John of Blossom, three grandchildren, Lance Northam & wife Laci, Adam Northam & wife Sarah and Parker Allen Dennington, a great granddaughter, Emma Northam, a niece Marjorie Clem of Paris, a great nephew, Norman Clem of Paris along with several other nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers will be: Terry Oliver, Kenny Oliver, Wayland Oliver, Bradley Sessums, Brandon Allen and Kevin Anderson. Honorary bearers will be: Gary Oliver and Jerry Allen.

Jimmie Lou Nash, 78, ofParis, passed away Wednesday February 29, 2012 atBaylorMedicalCenterinDallas. Funeral services will be held at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 with Rev. John Henry Theisen of Midway Church in Pilot Point officiating. Jimmie was born October 6, 1933 in Atlas a daughter of Forrest and Earvie Rogers Coplin. She graduated fromRoxtonHigh Schoolin 1951 and still attended all the school reunions. She also attendedParisJunior Collegewhere she was voted Christmas Queen and Homecoming Queen. In 1953 she representedLamarCountyin the State finals of the Texas Farm Bureau Queen Contest. She married Ollie Wayne Nash ofParison June 9, 1955, who preceded her in death in 1984. She worked in the banking industry for many years and as a teacher aide with the Paris ISD working with special needs children for over 20 years. Jimmie’s love for children was also evident at the First Baptist Church of Paris where she taught the 5 to 6 year old Sunday school class for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Paris Kiwaniannas.
Survivors include children Debbie Nash Woods and husband Kenne of Boerne, TX, Daryl Wayne Nash and wife Allison of San Antonio, TX, Dana Nash Adams of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandsons Lane Woods and Lincoln Woods of Boerne, granddaughters Kelsie Adams and Karlee Adams of Sulphur Springs; sisters Lurena Woerner and husband Eddie of Paris, Louise Vaughan and husband Joe of Grand Prairie, TX and Sandra Coplin Neill of Coppell, TX; an aunt Cleo Coplin of Paris and brother-in-law William (Bill) Nash and wife Jeanette of Paris along with numerous nieces and nephews.

EDITH DAVOUST, 101, of Sumner, passed from this life Wednesday February 29, 2012 at the home her grandson Steven. Private graveside rites were conducted on Thursday March 1, 2012 in the Pyles Cemetery, under the direction of Arvin Starrett and Marcus Roden of Starrett Funeral Home.
Edith was born October 19, 1910 in Tacoma, Washington, a daughter of Fred and Martha Dowse Nelson. She married George Davoust in 1940 in Seattle, and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Edwin Ray Doty, 60, of Blossom, died Tuesday evening, February 28, 2012 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston,Texas. A graveside service is set for 11:00 AM, Monday, March 5, 2012 at Bethel Cemetery in Red River Countywith Patrick Cannon officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery from 10:30 AM until service time on Monday. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Edwin was born August 11, 1951 inDallasto Gerald Lee and Mary Kathryn Billingsley Doty. He graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas and received in bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Doty is survived by his son, Hamilton Doty and wife, Jessica of Lewisville; his parents, Gerald and May Doty of Detroit; three siblings, Carol Lindenblatt of Angel Fire, New Mexico, Kenneth Doty of Cleburne, and Debra Gordon and husband, Allen of Houston; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Doty and his grandparents.
