North Lamar Students Return with a BASH
Bailey Intermediate, Everett Elementary and Higgins Elementary will hold their family events on Wednesday, August 20 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at their campuses.
Aaron Parker Elementary in Powderly will welcome their students and families on Thursday, August 21 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. A special Meet the Teacher/Parent Meeting will be held for Parker kindergarten students and parents on Tuesday, August 19 from 4:30 -5:30 p.m.
An inflatable fun slide will be set up in the gyms of the elementary campuses. The Boy Scouts of America will be serving nachos provided by Taco Casa in each cafeteria.
North Lamar Parent Volunteer Coordinator Nikki Moss said, “Due to the heat, activities will be held inside at each campus and plenty of bottle water will be on available.”
Parker Principal Tammie Bates said, “Parker kindergarten parents and students will meet their teachers on Tuesday, August 19 beginning at 4:30 p.m. Then first through fifth graders will meet their teachers August 21 starting at 4:30 p.m. Following students and families are invited for fun activities in the gym that will last until 6:00 p.m.” said Bates.
Students and teachers at Bailey Intermediate, Everett Elementary, and Higgins Elementary will get acquainted in a similar fashion followed by entertainment and food in the gyms. Meet the Teacher and Back to School Bash for each of these campuses will be from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
“Parents are encouraged to stop by an informational booth at each of the elementary campuses for information on how to help their child with homework, bullying, cyber safety, making friends, and more,” said Everett Counselor Christie Welch. “They can also sign up for a conference with the counselor and parenting workshops on the topics in which they are most interested.”
Frank Stone Middle School students will pick up schedules and meet their teachers on Thursday, August 21 from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.
North Lamar High School sophomore, juniors and seniors may pick up and review their new schedules Thursday, August 14. Changes may be requested at that time. Freshmen schedules will be issued at the end of the Panthers F.I.R.S.T. camp on Wednesday, August 13.
All high schoolers will pick up new schedules the first day of school beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the ‘B’ gym. Classes for all North Lamar students will begin Monday, August 25.
