Everett Elementary third graders get a close look at an alligator through a video conference with the popular TV show characters of Gator Boys.

Through a video conference with other elementary schools in the state of Texas, Everett Elementary third graders tuned in to learn about alligators and crocodiles from Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle also known as the Gator Boys.  The Gator Boys is a show aired on Animal Planet about two trappers who capture alligators that have invaded the lives of Florida Everglades residents.

Bedard and Riffle told student interesting facts about alligators and crocodiles that included differences in the two reptiles, their habitats, the adaptations to survive in the wild, what to do if you come upon one in the wild, and the importance of respecting wildlife.  Students at each school took turns in a question and answering session where all could see and hear.  The video conference concluded Everett’s third grade lesson on animals, their habitats, and adaptations.
