North Lamar student makes UIL history

chase ramseyNorth Lamar High School senior Chase Ramsey is among the first in the State of Texas to be a state semi-finalist in University Interscholastic League Student Film Competition.

In its inaugural year, students across the state of Texas have been given the opportunity to learn and express themselves creatively through film.

Ramsey competed with other 1A, 2A, and 3A filmmakers across the state in categories that included animation, documentary, and narrative.

His film, a narrative entitled The Perfect Day, was made with no budget, borrowed equipment, and few resources.

“With a little help from theatre sales and free labor, Chase and his crew were able to make a film to represent North Lamar well,” said NLHS theatre arts director and coach Cody Head. “His achievement comes from hard work and creativity.”

State finalists will travel to Austin for the Young Filmmakers Premiere and UIL Awards Ceremony.
