North Lamar SkillsUSA District Winners Advance to State
Four North Lamar High School students were named District Champs and advanced to State after competing at the SkillsUSA District Competition on February 28 and March 1, 2014, in Waco.
In the Small Engine Repair, placing first were Tristan McReynolds in Power Equipment Technology and Lane House in Motorcycle Technology. Others who advanced to State after placing in Power Equipment Technology are second place winner, Zach Pettis, and Aaron Robert who placed third.
Two from North Lamar’s Automotive Technology were named District Champs after winning first place. Dalton Melvin placed first in Marine Technology while Kade Kirby was first in Diesel Equipment Technology. Morgan Adams also advanced to state after placing third in Automotive Technology.
The SkillsUSA State Competition will be held in Corpus Christi on March 27-29. These seven students will be accompanied by Billy Copeland, Small Engine Technology sponsor, and Jared Reaves, Automotive Technology sponsor.
