North Lamar W-I-N-N-E-R-S to Represent District at Lamar County Spelling Bee

Six students from North Lamar Independent School District will compete with others in the county for a chance to win the Lamar County Spelling Bee Championship title. 

Campus winners are 4th graders Gracie Cole and Mackenzie Walker from Bailey Intermediate, 5th grader Hayden Miller and his 4th grade sister, McKenna Miller from Aaron Parker Elementary, and 6th graders Sarah Thapa and Alexus Eudy from Stone Middle School.

Those who have registered from public, private, charter, and home school in grades 4-8 will gather on February 11 at 4:00 p.m. in the North Lamar High School Auditorium to spell words like sacrilegious, crustaceology, or appoggiatura.  The winner of the Lamar County Spelling Bee will advance to The Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee.  The champion of the Regional Bee qualifies for an all-expense paid trip for three to the Scripps National Bee near Washington, D. C.
