United Way of Lamar County Prepares for 2015 Campaign
Virtually every individual in Lamar County is reached by the United Way. Through managed programs (VITA, FamilyWIZE, Food4Kids, etc.), volunteer opportunities and agency programs funded, YOUR United Way is dedicated to making a lasting impact.
By focusing on these three building blocks for a better life, United Way helps to create sustainable solutions to the most pressing issues in our community.
We maintain an extremely low overhead with just 13% of funds raised going to management and fundraising expense – the balance is invested in our community. For the first time ever, 100% of the $550,000 campaign goal has been committed to funding our partner agencies in 2015: American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts NETSEO, CASA for KIDS, Children’s Advocacy Center, Dylan’s Drivers, ETCADA, Girl Scouts of NETX, Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis Imagination Library, Lamar County Child Welfare Board, Lamar County Human Resources Council, Lamar County Literacy Council, Lamar County Coalition of Education Business & Industry, LRMHMR-Innovative Enterprises, New Hope Center of Paris, The King’s Daughters, The Salvation Army, RSVP, RRV Down Syndrome Society, SAFE-T.
This year we have exciting new plans for our 2015 Community Campaign Kick-off!
On September 12, 2014 we will hold a Volunteer Fair and “Live at Five” event at the Love Civic Center. All of our funded partners will be on hand to provide purposeful volunteer opportunities and to educate you on their impact. Plus, entertainment and lots of fun as we work toward “Building a Better Community with YOU”.
The fun continues on Saturday, September 13, with the 4th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament, at the Red River Valley Rodeo Arena. Team registration is happening now!
Businesses, organizations and community members are invited to join us in creating a meaningful event. We are reaching out to our local community for sponsorships and leadership gifts to make this year’s campaign successful.
