United Way Invites public to annual meeting and campaign celebration
During the meeting, United Way board executives and community leaders will recognize volunteers and the organization’s accomplishments in 2013, as well as announce the results of the annual campaign.
Here are some highlights:
- Stephen Gerrald, president of the board of directorsfor United Way of Lamar County, will speak on the state of the organization, reviewing accomplishments of the past year.
- Attendees will vote to approve newly revised By-Laws, available for review at www.lamarcountyuw.org, and nominations to the board of directors.
- Sue Labbe, campaign chair and board member, will be honored for her leadership during the 2014 Annual Campaign.
- Results for the 2014 United Way of Lamar County campaign will be announced and volunteers for United Way and its partner agencies will be honored for their efforts on behalf of the community.
“We are so honored to work with such amazing partners. When you look at how much was accomplished in a year, you realize how impactful our mission work is to the entire community,” said April Carl, executive director of United Way of Lamar County.
“Many volunteers, partner nonprofits, and businesses stepped forward to help with us this year and we owe them a big ‘thank you,” she said.
Seating is limited and tickets are available by contacting the United Way of Lamar County office at 903.784.6642. Advance ticket price $12 per person, or a table of 10 for $115. The ticket price on the day of the event will be $15.
