The Paris Kiwanis Club held its 63rd annual Pancake Days at the Lamar County Fairgrounds this weekend. Kiwanians went through 2,250 pounds of pancake mix, and used around 240 gallons of milk, 265 gallons of orange juice, 3,500 cups of coffee, 27,000 ounces of soft drinks, 2,052 pounds of sausage and 19,000 servings of butter.
The event started in 1951, serving 350 people and raising $235. Pancake Days broke the 6,000 mark in 2008 and served 7,608 people last year. About 8,000 people were expected to come through this year.
