Mr. Larry Leija has been named the 2012 Volunteer of the Year for Dylan’s Drivers.

“Larry’s commitment to the program is due in part to his belief in the program,” stated co-founder Vicki Ballard. “Along with the fact that he enjoys giving back to his community.”
Larry has been involved with the program as a volunteer since its inception.
“It is better to be safe than to get in a wreck or get a DWI, or ruin your life,” Volunteer of the Year, Larry Leija said. ”Call Dylan’s Drivers when you need a ride.”
Dylan’s Drivers was started by Ronnie and Vicki Ballard after tragically losing their son, Dylan Ballard, in an alcohol-related accident in July of 2011; the program began on the New Year’s weekend of 2012, just over a year ago. They’ve now given over 1350 rides, making a definite impact on our small community.
The Ballards have established Dylan’s Drivers to give free, non-judgmental and confidential rides home for anyone who is unable to drive because they have been drinking and lack access to a sober driver. If you need them call (903) 905-4959.
