Leadership Lamar County announces local dancers for anticipated Dancing with the Stars event

As 2013 begins and this year’s Leadership Lamar County class draws closer to graduation in May, many Leadership events will be held in the coming months, including the very anticipated Dancing with the Stars event, coming on June 15, 2013.

In a recent January meeting, the Leadership class gathered with previous dancers from past events and this year’s six chosen dancers.  The past dancers discussed the amazing fun that the Dancing with Stars event is and the hard work and dedication it took to learn to dance professionally and then compete, along with advice and tips for the new dancers.

This year’s chosen dancers are: LaWanda Knight (paired with professional dancer, Robert), Cayton Flippen (paired with professional, Amy), Michelle Wall (paired with professional,nGene), Tom Caldwell (paired with professional, Tawnya), LaJuana Eckel (paired with professional, Leon), and Tray Turner (paired with professional, Belinda).

There are sponsorships still available for businesses, which include tickets to the event, promotion on printed materials, website and event programs.  Contact the Leadership class if you are interested in sponsoring the event.

Tickets for the public are now available too!  Get yours now!  They will go quick.  There is VIP Seating available for $1000 for 8-10 seats and General Seating for $750 for a table of 10, $600 for a table of 8, or $75 per ticket.  To get your tickets, email Lisa Walker at lwalker@hwh1887.com.

The event will start at 6pm on Saturday, June 15; arrival times will be announced in May.

All the profits earned by the Leadership Lamar County class of 2012-2013 through their various fundraising events and efforts go to the benefit of the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society.
