Songs of the Season

From the Mommy Desk…

                        “Songs of the Season”

A wonderful annual tradition in Paris, and a great way to get you and your family in the Christmas spirit, is “Songs of the Season”.  This Christmas concert will be held at the First Baptist Church, 207 S. Church Street, on Tuesday, November 27th at 7:30pm.

This celebration of song and holiday cheer is a cooperative effort between several local choirs. This year’s event, sponsored by the Paris Community Theatre and the law/title offices of Sydney Young, features the Paris Community Choir, under the direction of Pat Fowzer, the Paris High School Chorale, directed by Jan Blize and the North Lamar High School Chamber Singers, directed by Rebecca Hildreth.

This year’s selection of music includes “Carol of the Bells;” “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind;” “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas;” “We Three Kings;” and many, many more.  The concert finale features “Mary Did You Know” and my personal favorite, Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Tickets for 25th anniversary of “Songs of the Season” can be purchased at the following outlets: Paris Community Theatre Box Office (1-5pm weekdays); PHS Choir Room, NLHS Choir Room, First United Methodist Church office, First Baptist Church office and the offices of Newman Towne and Country Realty.

Tickets are $8 per person and children under 5 are admitted free. Doors will open at 7pm on night of the concert. For more information or to reserve tickets, call the PCT Box Office at 903-784-0259.
