Come on down to Downtown…

This July there is a lot going on in downtown Paris to keep your kids entertained.  Of course you can always start with the Culbertson Fountain – kids love to climb around on the fountain itself and come prepared with a handful of pennies for throwing & wishing!

Paris Baby is hosting “Fun Fridays” every Friday in July that is guaranteed to delight the little ones!  Bring the kids in to the store, at 134 South Main Street, to create a craft, get a balloon and eat cotton candy!  They will also be handing out coupons to Girls and Cake, which is located at the corner of Lamar Avenue and 1st street (this precious bakery, decorated in pinks with chandeliers, has the best homemade cupcakes downtown!). For more information on Fun Fridays, visit www.parisbaby.org.

On Saturday mornings, take the kids to the Farmers Market, located at 410 1st St. SW in Paris.

In addition to fresh produce and plants, there is a wide variety of vendors offering fresh, locally made coffee, bakery items, eggs, pottery and more. Saturday mornings from 8am-noon also include children’s activities, in the past this has included storytelling, origami, corn husk doll making, and children’s planting with Master Gardeners. Sometimes there is even live music.

Need some retail therapy with your kiddos? Right on the square is the adorable children’s boutique Itsy Bitsy Spider, 9 East Plaza.  They offer unique clothing and gifts for babies to tween. Itsy Bitsy Spider is open Mon – Thurs: 10:00AM – 5:30PM and Fri – Sat: 10:00AM – 5:00PM. For more information visit their website at shopitsybitsyspider.com or call 903-785-KIDS.
