Thunderstorms may have washed out the Pumpkin Festival, but the rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Haunted Theater or Zombie Walk.
Rain had vendors packing up by 10:30 a.m. Saturday, but Paris Community Theater’s fundraiser went on as scheduled just after 11 a.m. to a full house. Performances continued until 4 p.m. The Haunted Theater will reopen to frighten the public from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Halloween. Admission is $3, or for $10, theatergoers can purchase a “Fast Pass” to jump to the front of the line.
The annual Zombie Walk also went on as scheduled, drawing crowds of the lurching undead as they walked around downtown. With Pumpkin Festival cancelled, streets that would have normally been closed remained open, which created some traffic issues for the walking dead.
