Paris Baby celebrates 4-year birthday

After a good start in the small town of Blossom in 2008, the girls at Paris Baby are more than excited to now celebrate their 4-year birthday party.  Everyone is invited to a ‘kids-style’ birthday celebration on Saturday at their store in downtown Paris.

Melissa Gordon and Tabitha Blackburn — who own and run Paris Baby — met each other when they were 9 years old.  Since then, they have made Paris Baby a one-stop-shop for baby & children clothing and accessory needs.  Just like their ideas from a young age grew, so has their store, becoming a very respected business in the downtown and all of Paris.

“Our ideas at first were the kind that you think, ‘if it were me, I’d do it this way’, or ‘if I could have a store, it would be like this’”, Gordon explained about her and Tabitha’s ideas of a having a baby store.  ”Every time she or I would see a baby or children’s toy or clothing item or store, that’s the kind of thing we’d always say.  Eventually, all those ideas grew into plans, and then became what is now Paris Baby.”

They are also both extremely active in the community of Paris, heading up the Paris Downtown Association and working hand-in-hand on projects with Paris Main Street, as well as other city and community organizations.

With the idea of a ‘baby store’ starting at a young age, the two tossed ideas around and discussed plans for quite some time before they actually opened the store, first in Blossom in September of 2008.  The Blossom location was great in that it was the home to the first Paris Baby, but the space was very small and the two knew that it would not be permanent.

In February 2009, Tabitha and Melissa packed their things up and moved from Blossom to Paris.  The new place was now in town and located on the very busy 24th Street.  However, this still would not be the place that Paris Baby would make a permanent home.

“One year after moving to 24th Street, we moved again to our current downtown location,” stated Melissa Gordon.  ”We absolutely love it downtown.”

Paris Baby is the type of store that is completely centered around FUN and GIFTS– and babies and children, of course.  They have a large shopping area packed with the ‘best-of-the-best’ clothing and accessories.

And, there is an awesome play area for the little ones, full of toys, games, crayons, etc.

“All children are welcome at Paris Baby,” stated Tabitha Blackburn.  ”While the moms shop around the store, the children can play.”

Speaking of playing, this Saturday, September 8, from 10am-3pm, Paris Baby will turn their store into a party zone for kids.  With all the free hot dogs, snow cones and cotton candy the kiddos will need, plus tons of other fun activities.  There will be drawings for some awesome door prizes, too, so grab the family and come to the party on Saturday.  Everyone is welcome.

If you would like to know any more information about Paris Baby, just visit their website at www.parisbaby.co.  There you will find a calendar of their upcoming downtown events, links to contact, pictures of featured items, and much more.

Also on their website, is Paris Baby’s baby registry for expectant parents.  Here parents can register a list for family and friends to use as they shop for your gifts at the store.

If you’ve not had the chance to visit Paris Baby — 134 S. Main Street, Downtown Paris — you should do so.  Especially if you have children close to you.  Even uncles, aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, friends and babysitters of the youngsters could enjoy the fun and things that Paris Baby has to offer.

Happy Birthday Paris Baby.  Congratulations to 4 great years, on behalf of the eParis Extra, with hopes for many more to come.
