A different kind of race will be brought to Paris in October, when the Urban Run is scheduled to bring racers right to the racetrack that will be the streets of our town.
The event is being hosted by United Way of Lamar County and, the race will span to different areas of Paris, but will mainly be run in the historic downtown district.
Urban running is a sport of foot racing amongst all the obstacles and landscapes a city can offer. Runners must be fit to run this fast paced — and sometimes lengthy — sprint-to-the-finish sport.
The race will be held on October 6 from 10am-2pm. Many businesses will host “stops” for the race, which will provide a rest area and a place for spectators to stop in — and hopefully SHOP.
There are also opportunities for sponsorship and the possibility of hosting one of the “stops”. Just contact Kim Sledd at ksledd@hospicepuls.net.
Be on the look-out for more information to follow on the Extra! about this anticipated Urban Run.
Paris should make for a spectacular racetrack.
