Calling all Paris area cyclists

Main Street and Paris Area Cyclists are hosting a Tour de Paris Tune Up and Cyclist ‘get together’ next Tuesday, July 17^th 2012, at Bywaters Park 400 S. Main Street, downtown Paris — 6:30pm.

The purpose of the rally is to get area riders together for a last minute tune up, teach some valuable tips for cyclists, and have some hometown fun before the tour de Paris.

Rockwall Cycling will be setting up a tent and will have needed supplies for riders to help prepare them for the Tour de Paris.

Some things that will be taught at the pre-Tour de Paris cyclist rally along with the teachers and speakers are listed below.

Sometimes people just get on their bike and ride until they have a problem. With proper maintenance, the riding experience will be more fun and equipment/investment will benefit.

The riding experience can be enhanced or hindered by how your bike fits and its adjustments for your size. Learn from a professional at Rockwall cycling, as well as other experienced riders, on how to ride comfortably.

Edwin Pickle: Tour de Paris Information and other Ride Information Tent

Do you ride around town? Do you have a favorite route? Share rides, find out about the trail, and other rides in the region. Riding with groups can be motivational and fun.

There will also be biker games for everyone to take part in at the event. Some of these games are listed below.

Fun biker games:

Lets make a deal game.
Bike toss (there will be an old and abused bmx bike for a tossing competition)
Ride slowest competition (how slow can you go without putting your foot down?)
Mini bike competition (For adults only; there will be 2 mini bikes and a course for races.)
Take off back tire, re install back tire, and ride (Put your newly learned skills to work.)

Encourage your friends to ride to the park! All riders welcome.

It is going to be a lot of fun for everyone, and we especially want to encourage riders to get ready for the tour de Paris.
