PEDC Back on the Agenda for City Council Meeting Monday Night
The Paris City Council meets in regular session on Monday, August 25th at 5:30pm. There are several items on the agenda dealing with the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) and the completed “forensic audit” investigation.
The Council will consider setting a date and time to meet with and receive a report from the PEDC Board of Directors regarding the forensic investigation and final report conducted by Defenbaugh & Associates.
The council will also discuss possibly sending the results of the Defenbaugh investigation as it relates to the performance of former PEDC Director Steve Gilbert to the Texas Attorney General and/or the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for compliance with the Texas Economic Development Act.
Examining proposed amendments to the PEDC Bylaws is also up for discussion.
Also on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting are construction of airport utilities, the 2014-15 budget, calling public hearings for the proposed tax rate for 2014-15, and discussing and possibly approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Paris and the First United Methodist Church for a spray park.
The council will also receive and consider a request from Richard and Claudia Hunt for assistance with downtown electric power lines.
The Paris City Council meets in the City Council Chamber, located at 107 E. Kaufman Street in downtown Paris. All meetings are open to the public and Monday’s meeting will include a citizens’ forum.
