Texas Tumbling & Trampoline Institute has had a very successful season in the USA Gymnastics sport of Trampoline and Tumbling. This year they had 11 state champions, 8 state silver medalists and 6 state bronze medalists.

This past June they had 5 athletes compete in the Levels 5-7 USA Gymnastics National Championships in Spokane, Washington. In July they had 3 athletes that competed in the Levels 8 and up U.S. National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. Members of the team that competed in nationals are Alyssa VanWorth, Elisha Skidmore, Emeri Watson, Jayden Drake, Jessica Francis, Logan Gilbert, Rylee Chapman, and Sophie Stone.

In the Levels 5-7 Nationals, Jayden Drake placed 8th on level 6 Tumbling.  Alyssa VanWorth placed 7th on level 7 trampoline and level 7 double mini trampoline. Rylee Chapman placed in all three of her events with a 10th place finish in level 6 tumbling, 6th place in level 6 trampoline, and a 3rd place in level 6 double-mini trampoline. Sophie Stone also had a successful meet with a silver medal finish on level 6 double mini trampoline. She barely missed the stand on trampoline as well.

At the U.S. National Championships, 10 year old Jessica Francis placed 7th in the nation on level 8 double-mini trampoline. Logan Gilbert placed on all three of his events. After a disappointing fall on trampoline, he finished in 6th place in level 10 trampoline. He placed 5th on level 8 tumbling and then brought home the bronze medal on level 10 double-mini trampoline.  Logan also competed as a Regional All-Star.

In each region, level 10 athletes that finish 1st at the regional competition between 8 states, become a part of the regional all-star team that goes head to head with all other regions for a team competition at nationals. Only the 2 highest scores counted from each region in the competition. Logan’s trampoline score made up part of the winning team earning Region 3 the 1st place trophy.

Texas Tumbling & Trampoline commented that all of this success would not have been possible without the generosity of our community in helping these athletes raise the money to attend these two spectacular events. Coach Bill Gandy said, ”We are so very proud of each and everyone of these kids. They have made us proud and have represented Paris and North Texas very well.”
