Results of PEDC Forensic Invesigation to be Revealed June 16th
The Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) Chair Rebecca Clifford has announced that there will be a special meeting on Monday, June 16th at 5:30pm to hear from Danny Defenbaugh.
Danny Defenbaugh is a private investigator and the owner of Defenbaugh & Associates. His firm was hired by PEDC Chair Rebecca Clifford this past April to conduct a “forensic investigation” into the Paris Economic Development Corporation, specifically to examine the deal with Rogers Wade in 2010.
The contract with Defenbaugh & Associates required weekly verbal reports and a preliminary written report no later that May 1st. An invoice for $22,042 was received by the PEDC for work done through April 30th, and has been paid.
At the PEDC regularly scheduled meeting on June 10th at 3pm, the board will discuss and possibly act on the second invoice from Defenbaugh in the amount of $21,075. This bill covers work done from May 5-31, despite the lack of a written report.
At a special meeting last week with the city council, Ms. Clifford said that she had received no written reports from Defenbaugh, only verbal, and that the results of the investigation had been turned over to the FBI.
Mr. Defenbaugh has 33 years experience with the FBI. Most of the consultants that work for the firm, have also previously worked for the FBI.
The firm’s website describes Defenbaugh & Associates, Inc., as a “a security consultant and investigations company specializing in Due Diligence, Security Vulnerability Assessments, and investigations.”
Both PEDC meetings will be held at the Community Room at the Depot, located at 1125 Bonham Street.
