Old Fashioned Picnic at Lake Crook Park

lake crook parkThe Friends of Lake Crook Park organized an Old-Fashioned Community Picnic at Lake Crook this past Saturday.

Nearly 200 people enjoyed perfect weather and hot dogs donated by Gary and Becky Nash of Powderly Dairy Queen. Vicky Foster, Dairy Queen’s manager, provided the know how and cookers for the hot dogs.

Chips and drinks were donated by Rocky Dority and Greg Story of Brookshires.

Children enjoyed the bubble wands and filled the air with bubbles. A perfect day and groomed lawn invited the children to run free, enjoying the swings, flying kites and kicking balls through foam noodle wickets. A few tried the experiences of jump rope and horseshoe tossing.

“It was a delightful group of enthusiastic and well-behaved children,” said Jackie Alsobrook, one of the event organizers and Co-Chair of the Friends of Lake Park.

Friends of Lake Crook Park recently organized to gather the support of Paris residents to oppose the city of Paris’s plan to develop the area around Lake Crook.   For more information on call 903-784-5814.
