Launch of the Fit City Paris Website

Fit City ParisWondering where to find places to workout in Paris and the surrounding community? Hunting for a tasty but healthy recipe to try on your family during the holidays? Need some stress relief? These are some of the questions that you may be asking yourself as the holidays are approaching. A local new website has made its debut on Black Friday encouraging everyone to live a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Fit City Paris ( was designed to feature area community activities, local events, health and nutrition information, parks and recreation, running and walking maps and other information that can lead area residents to a healthier lifestyle. Also included on the website are articles and links for active living and healthy eating. Fit City Paris aims to provide the tools, the motivation and the mentoring for both the individual and the community as a whole.  These small lifestyle changes over a period of time can significantly improve our overall physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.  And, the strength and resilience gained from healthy living often leads to a longer, happier life.

The Fit City Paris website was made possible by a Transforming North Texas grant , a $2.5 million five-year community transformation grant for Lamar and Hopkins counties. Many key partners and supporters have come together to help make it possible. Lamar County is fortunate to have open spaces, city parks, recreational facilities, and a beautiful Trail de Paris. In addition, a wide variety of activities are offered throughout the year. The Fit City Coalition invites everyone in Paris and the surrounding communities to visit the website and begin living a healthy lifestyle.
