A candlelight vigil will be held tonight for the four recent homicide victims, Romello Steward, Devante Akins, BriJonne Woods, and Billy Carey, who were killed on Oct. 9 in Paris.
The service will be lead by Reverend Kendall McAfee, and a song will be performed by Branderious Dillard. A closing prayer will be given by Stephanie Dowd.
Sponsored by Brenda Cherry, president of Concerned Citizens for Racial Equality, the vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. in front of the house at 435 N.E. 6th St.
Those in attendance are encouraged to bring a candle.
An ‘open mic’ will follow the service, allowing anyone to offer a prayer, a song, or a comment. Everyone is invited to attend and help honor the memory of the lives of the victims.
