Paris, TX 44°F Mist

Free summer concert this weekend

summer_concertLocal band, Blackland, will be performing a free concert on Saturday, August 16, on the lawn of the assisted living facility, Lamar Place (formerly Paris Oaks), for the residents and anyone else in the community that wants to come and enjoy.

“When we decided to put this event on, we really wanted it to focus on community,” Lamar Place Community Relations Manager, Laura Spencer, said. “I want our residents to know that they are a part of this community and not feel like they are just in an institution within four walls.”

Dylan’s Drivers will be onsite selling tickets for the ‘side-by-side’ ATV that they are raffling off. All the proceeds from raffle ticket sales will go to the benefit of their annual fundraiser, Rides for a Reason.

Mike Patterson from Visiting Angels will be emceeing the event, while Premier Home Care & Hospice will provide free ice cream and popsicles.

The McGillicutty’s Food Truck and The Chocolate Kettle will also be there for everyone to enjoy their original food.

Bring you lawn chairs, family and friends, and come out and enjoy a great concert for a great cause. The performance will be from 7-9 p.m. Lamar Place is located at 2905 N. Main Street.
