Benefit for Robert Forsyth to be held Sunday, August 17
Longtime Paris community member, Robert D. Forsyth, has been recently diagnosed with a terminal disease, and hist family and friends have put together a benefit in his honor and to raise funds to help with the medical expenses that come with such a tragic diagnosis.
“He [Robert] has been a member of the Paris community for the past 27 years, working as a manager for Hargis Electric for about 17 years, then for himself for about 10 years,” his son, Russ Forsyth said. “He was just diagnosed with mesothelioma — which is terminal — a couple months ago.”
The fundraiser will be held at the Fair Grounds on Sunday, August 17, from noon to 6 p.m. There will be BBQ sandwiches, chips and drinks for everyone. Tickets are 10$ for adults and $5 for children (free entry for children under 3). All funds will go to the benefit of the Forsyth family as they undertake this battle with mesothelioma.
There will be live entertainment by Stacey Musgrove and Merrol Ray, as well as a live and silent auction.
Donations to the family can also be made at Guaranty Bond Bank location.
