Dylan’s Drivers’ 1st annual Rides for a Reason has great turnout

Dylan’s Drivers had their first annual fundraiser Saturday, September 22 — Rides for a Reason 2012.

From the early AM until the afternoon hours, the Love Civic Center was full of activities and fun.  There were bounce houses, beer goggle golf cart obstacle courses, live bands, a softball tournament, a car show, memorial motorcycle ride, a hamburger cook-off, tailgate party, raffle drawings, and a 5K Run and Fun Run/Walk, plus much more.

“We’ve now given over 800 rides,”  said Dylan’s Drivers cofounder, Ronnie Ballard.  ”We are so thankful to Paris and Lamar County for all the support that they’ve shown with Dylan’s Drivers and our first benefit.”

There were many very appreciated volunteers and community businesses that stepped up to help this fundraiser.

Paris Firemen took pictures with children and their firetrucks, while entertaining them with a remote controlled ‘fire dog’ named Sparky, and Paris Police officers manned the Beer Goggle Golf Cart course.

All the proceeds and donations at Saturday’s (September 22) benefit go to Dylan’s Drivers and their cause of delivering safely and freely home those that have consumed alcoholic beverages and rightfully choose not to take the wheel.

Below is a small photo gallery of some of the day’s happenings.  Thank you to all of those that came out to support this wonderful organization in Lamar County.
