Fundraiser in Bogata for Kason Rein Tubb
Kason Rein Tubb was born May 9th, 2014 to Brian and Kimberly Tubb from Bogata, Texas. Shortly before he was born, the doctors informed his parents that he would be a dwarf and his chance for survival would be slim, but survived he did.
Shortly after he was delivered, he was also diagnosed with a rare disorder called Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata. This disorder affects 1 out of 100,000 children. The condition shortens bones and creates severe breathing problems. This disorder can be fatal. 60% of children diagnosed survive the first year, but only 30% live past the age of 5.
Now, at just a little over 3 months, the family is preparing for the possibility that he might not make it. Kason will go through numerous surgical procedures and therapy in the upcoming months.
He is waiting for his permanent feeding tube, cataract surgery, and therapy to ease the pressure his head is placing on his spine. A prayer page has been established on FaceBook under prayforkason.
A benefit to assist his family in expenses they are incurring will be held on September 6th at the Bogata School Community Center beginning at 4:00pm. The Barbeque fund raiser will donate all proceeds to benefit Kason. In addition to the BBQ Sandwich meal consisting of sandwich, drink and chips for $7.00, a live auction will begin at 5:00 pm featuring many donated items from individuals and businesses in the area, and a silent cake auction will continue throughout the evening. Music is being provided by Scattered Pieces, featuring Michael O’Neal and Dustin Perry.
There has also been a fund established and Guaranty Bond Bank under Kason Rein Tubb Benefit. All donations accepted and appreciated.
