Paris police officers responded to 107 calls for service on Wednesday, resulting in the arrests of nine individuals, department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.

Among them:

  • About 4 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call from a man who complained that during his visit at the residence of John David McCool, 46, in the 2100 block of Maple Street, McCool charged at him with a knife and threatened to kill him. The man said he was there at the invitation of another family member. He told officers he ran out of the residence and called police. McCool was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
  • Approximately 11:30 a.m., Jillian Michelle Ingram, 30, was arrested on two felony warrants charging her with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance. Police officers said they found her asleep in a residence in the 400 block of Southeast 9th Street.
  • Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police officers responded to a report of a theft of a black Jeep Wrangler from a vehicle lot in the 1600 block of the northeast loop. The owner of the car lot said when he arrived at work, he noticed the vehicle was missing. Surveillance footage showed that someone drove the vehicle off the lot about 3:45 a.m. The incident is under investigation, Garrett said.
  • Shortly before midnight, a police officer said he attempted to stop a 2002 green Chevrolet Avalanche near the intersection of Lamar Avenue and Southeast 12th Street. He said the vehicle stopped, but sped away as he attempted to make contact with the driver. A pursuit followed, and the vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier in the 400 block of Southeast 14th Street, the officer said. The driver fled on foot, but three passengers were detained, the officer reported. The front passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana, and the two passengers in the back were released. Charges are being sought against the driver, Garrett said.
