Search for stolen laptop leads to marijuana charge
Paris police arrested Annekque Shanell Robinson, 27, on Tuesday at her residence in the 2600 block of Beverly Drive for possession of a controlled substance she did not have a prescription for.
Detectives had gone to the residence as part of an investigation into a stolen laptop computer, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
“Detectives immediately smelled marijuana emitting from inside the residence,” Garrett said.
Detectives then obtained a search warrant, confirmed her possession of marijuana, and took her into custody, Garrett said.
Police officers responded to 83 calls for service on Tuesday, resulting in nine arrests, Garrett said.
