Do you have an idea for the next great American novel but you’re not sure how to get started?  Or perhaps you have a desk drawer full of short stories that you would like to publish, but you are not sure of the steps to publication. Or a published writer that would like to network with other writers? Then plan on joining the new Writer’s Group.

The writers’ group plans on meeting once a month, currently scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Writers in any genre and any experience level, from beginners to seasoned professionals, are welcome to join.  Members will benefit from networking with other writers, peer support, roundtable sharing/critique of their work, and formal and informal educational opportunities in a friendly, supportive setting.

Most meetings will typically be comprised of critiquing sessions, but the group will occasionally have guest speakers as part of their monthly programs.  In addition to the regular meetings the group will also schedule one or two writing workshops during the year.  A long-term goal of the group is to eventually host a annual writers’ conference in Paris.

The group’s first meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 10 in the Paris Public Library at 326 S. Main St. in Paris. If you are a writer or want to be a writer, you are invited to attend.  Contact ronhervey@gmail.com for more information.
