The Horse Flea will be an antique market held at the Paris Horse Auction, starting March 9, that will take place on the Saturday prior to the second Monday in March, June, September, and December.

The market will take place on the same weekends as similar events in McKinney and Bonham.

Vendors will only be permitted to sale items at least ten years old in the following categories: hand crafted, antique, vintage, shabby chic, industrial, and unique.

Registration is free, and vending spaces come on a first come, first serve basis.

The idea of The Horse Flea is to create a destination/event in coordination with other events as well as promote antique shops in Paris and the surrounding area, says organizer Kevin Cannon, who owns Lillian Kelley’s Design antique shop in downtown Paris.

“Basically, we want to grow into 1400 acres,” Cannon told the Extra. “We want to create a market every three months that is a quality, vintage, and unique.”

Live music and wine tasting will also be featured at The Horse Flea in the coming months, with Leona’s Cafe providing concessions for the events.

For more information about vending and overall general information, contact Kevin Cannon at Lillian Kelley’s Design at 4 North Plaza located in downtown Paris or call 903-348-3694.
