Next Saturday, October 26th, is the 13th Annual Festival of Pumpkins sponsored by Paris Main Street. This festival has grown and has become a fall favorite for the Northeast Texas region. There is live music all day, great shopping around the historic downtown square, unique vendors and many delicious food options.
Every year the festival features a pet pageant, a costume contest, a pumpkin decorating contest, a petting zoo and pony rides. Kids love the bounce houses and slides, bungee jumps and the midway. Cash prizes are awarded for best costume and best decorated pumpkin. Other highlights of the festival include the Paris Community Theatre’s “Haunted Theatre” (which is also open the night before the festival from 5:30-9:30pm), the Zombie Walk and a Pumpkin Pie contest.
Admission to the Festival is free and pets (on leash) are welcome. For more information call 903-784-9296.
