New benches and trash cans were installed on Clarksville Street last Friday. Shown here,Lee Ann Hampton and Leslie M. Lange take a break and rest on the newly installed bench donated by Paris Apothecary to historic downtown. This bench located on the first block of Clarksville Street where the sidewalks were replaced in 2012. Paris Main Street Design committee, as a part of revitalization efforts, developed a donation program for benches and trash receptacles. Farmers Market is now in full swing having been open the two previous Saturdays and drawing 300 to 400 people each weekend for fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and food items. The farmers market is open 8:00am til noon every week. Starting in June, the vendors will also be open Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm. The Wednesday market will run through the first two weeks of July.

The Highway 82 & 287 Yard Sale is just around the corner. On Friday June 6th and 7th, towns along the 425 mile stretch of highway will host yard sales, garage sales and flea markets. The downtown plaza will be the site of Junk in the Trunk, where garage sale vendors can sell their wares by reserving one of the parking spots around the fountain. The second Music on Main event will also take place on the Plaza on the evening of the 7th during the yard sale. Bring a lawn chair and come listen to free live music at the fountain brought to you by the Paris Downtown Association.
